There isn’t an auto-fill app for the Adventure table, but they can help you figure out whether or not your setup of Companions and Troops will win or lose before you send them off. I went three expansions without using an addon for the mission tables, but addons really help in Shadowlands - even though they aren’t as powerful as they were in previous expansions. I’m sorry, but I have to recommend an addon. Try to get them to focus fire on the enemy that looks the most dangerous.Īddons can really help you level Companions When placing your Companions and Troops, look at who they target with their attacks. If your opponent has more tanks minions and less DPS, then use more Companions and Troops with high Attack and worry less about your Health. Use Companions or Troops with more Health there, and those with more Attack in the back row. If the opposing team is all melee - that is they have the sword icon on their portraits - then they will primarily attack your front row. Positioning your Companions and Troops properly can also help you win. If the enemy team has twice as much Health, but your team has three times as much Attack, then you should win… usually. (Sorry, should have warned, there was going to be math.) The higher number will probably win.īut be aware that this doesn’t take special abilities or buffs into consideration - it just looks at general attacks each turn. How to set your Adventure team up for successĪs a quick check whether or not you will be victorious, look at the total Health of the enemy team divided by the total Attack of your team versus the total Health of your team divided by the total Attack of the enemy team. Keeping your Companions around the same level will help to control the level of your Troops. Your Troops are the median level of all of your Companions. When you gain new Companions, from Renown levels or Torghast, start focusing on leveling them up first, by putting them into groups with the higher Companions. Either let them sit and heal back up over time, or put them onto an Adventure that they can easily win. You can heal a Companion, but this costs a lot of Anima, so it’s not recommended. When they’re victorious, but do not level up, their health is not restored. When they’re defeated, they don’t lose health. When a follower levels on an Adventure, their health is filled to maximum. Watch those health bars. If you send followers on a mission when their health is low, you’re lowering your chances of winning, so pay attention to everyone’s health.In previous expansions, this method of just putting followers out there wasn’t necessarily bad, but right now Anima is in such short supply, this isn’t recommended. Failing rewards XP, but it’s not worth it. Even on a failed Adventure, all participants gain XP. Wait until all your Companions are around the same level as the available Campaign Adventures - then start completing them and push on to the next difficulty level. After successfully completing a few of these, the difficulty of all available Adventures will increase, which makes succeeding on Adventures so much harder. Don’t jump on the Campaign Adventures that say they lead to greater rewards. This should be obvious, but when leveling you should favor Adventures that reward bonus XP. Blizzard is attempting to fix that with recent changes, that buffed weak Companions in the Kyrian and Venthyr Covenants, and taken away the easy strategy for Night Fae to just load up on Trappers. Thus far, Adventures have been rather unbalanced between Covenants. At least they can’t die on failed Adventures like the ships in the Shipyard, but there’s still not a lot to love about the Adventure Table. And leveling up the Companions is slower than leveling up Followers in the past. It uses a rare resource, Anima, that you need for many other parts of the game. We’ve had five different versions of them, and the Adventure Table in Shadowlands is yet another updated take on the Mission Table - one that has its drawbacks compared to past versions.
